3. Purposes for which information is used

We process information, as permitted by applicable law, to provide accounts and contracted research services; authenticate users and manage permissions; respond to inquiries and support requests; process subscriptions and billing; secure systems and detect abuse; maintain research records where authorized; correct errors; comply with legal obligations; and improve the reliability and usability of our Services.

We may send service notices and research-publication updates. Where lawful and appropriate, we may separately send promotional communications; users may unsubscribe using the method provided. We do not use optional analytics or marketing tracking. If we introduce it, it will be subject to the choices that applicable law requires.

We do not use an individual's browsing or account profile to provide personalized securities investment advice. User selections may determine which existing research documents, calculations or datasets the platform displays, but this does not turn the research into a suitability determination.

4. Automated processing and AI-assisted research

AltQ uses software-based workflows and may use AI-assisted tools to process fund documents, extract facts, reconcile data and draft research text. These activities can involve personal information appearing in lawfully obtained documents (for example, named fund officers or professional contacts) or in authorized submissions.

Service providers that help run these tools receive only the information they need and are bound by confidentiality and security obligations.

Where legally required, AltQ will provide additional notice about decisions made solely through automated processing of personal information and any associated rights. Proprietary ratings of fund entities are not by themselves automated decisions about individuals.

5. Sources of research data and public records

Our Services may incorporate public SEC filings, corporate records, fund documents, professional biographies and other sources containing names or business contact information. Public availability does not mean that privacy rules can be ignored. AltQ processes personal information from these sources only for appropriate business research and related purposes, subject to applicable law.

Separately, manager-supplied nonpublic information may be subject to contractual confidentiality limitations even when it contains no personal information. The handling of such material is also governed by customer or manager agreements where applicable.

6. Sharing and service providers

We may share relevant information with vetted service providers that help us operate the platform, such as cloud hosting, authentication, payment, support, email and AI-processing providers. These providers should receive only information reasonably necessary for their documented purposes and be subject to appropriate contractual security and confidentiality terms.

We may also disclose information to respond to lawful legal requests, protect the Services and individuals, investigate misconduct or facilitate a corporate transaction subject to applicable notice, safeguards and legal restrictions.

We do not sell personal information.

7. International data handling

Because AltQ may use service providers or make research available across borders, information could be processed outside the location where it was collected. Where information is transferred outside Québec, we assess the transfer and apply the contractual and technical safeguards that applicable law requires. Depending on where AltQ and users are located, additional notices may apply.

8. Retention and deletion

AltQ retains personal information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes stated, subject to legal, contractual, security, accounting and legitimate recordkeeping requirements. Retention periods are determined by category, not an unlimited blanket rule.

9. Security

AltQ applies technical and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including access restrictions, authentication, monitoring and protections for data in transmission and storage as appropriate. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Where legally required, AltQ will investigate qualifying incidents, notify relevant authorities or affected individuals and maintain required incident records.

AltQ is SOC 2 Type II certified. A SOC 2 Type II report is an independent attestation of the design and operating effectiveness of specified controls over a review period. It is not a government certification and does not guarantee that an incident cannot occur.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access or correct personal information, obtain information about uses or disclosures, withdraw consent when processing is based on consent, request deletion, obtain portability, object to or limit certain processing, or lodge a complaint with a relevant regulator. Some rights have exceptions and identity verification requirements.

The responsible privacy officer's title and contact details will be made available. Québec-specific features that identify, locate or profile individuals require appropriate advance notice and activation controls where applicable.
